Google and Yahoo vs. the VCs

John Batelle has written a post about the big portal players will be competing for startups with VCs. He was on a panel with Simon Levene over at Yahoo who basically stated it this way:

"Folks like Yahoo will be competing with you for deals."

This is exactly what Duncan Davidson said to me during our interview. He definitely sees Yahoo and Google as strong alternate routes for entrepreneurs to go down. Given all the Riya Rumors -  it looks like we're seeing it play out.
