I thought I'd write down what some of my favorite tools that I've found valuable in startups are in the hopes that others will do the same so I can learn about them too.
Common characteristics for all the tools I will recommend is that they are high value. That means that they're big benefit for a very small cost. Yes I'm very cost conscious (or very cheap and stingy if you're uncharitable).
First on my list is Freeconference.com. As the name suggests it's a conference calling service that you can use for free. Yes, you heard me right free.
All you need to do is have people dial numbers out in Iowa in order to conference in. Since most people are on cell phones (with unlimited long distance) or are in large companies where they don't care if they're calling Iowa or California this works out very well in your favor. I think that the company makes money on the long distance charges that someone else is paying.
It's got a fairly simple interface, reception works well and did I mention that it was free?
By the way did you try freeconference.liveoffice.com it has lots of cool nice features

Responding to a link from a few months back, but just a note that FreeConference will be moving to FREE recording on Premium services, and will be introducing web-based collaboration and podcasting shortly.
