I stumbled across Buildv1 through my friend Kareem's blog.
It aspires to be a place where entrepreneurs can connect online and maybe find a great co-founder to start a company with.
At first blush it really looks like just like a job board though. Granted it's probably a more focused job board since it has startup relevant fields etc. but it's really sort of a job board.
I think if it got critical mass it could be useful to find opportunities. There really isn't a great place to do that now.
My biggest request for the Buildv1 team would be that I'd want to learn more about the founders and their backgrounds before I decided to make a connection.
You can read more about what the founders think on (ofcourse) their blog.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm not sure I understand your request. Are you saying that you would want to know more about the person who posted before you responded to his/her post?
We included the "What you bring to the table / Experience" field to encourage people who post to include as many relevant details about their background as possible in order to sell people on the value of working with them. My guess is that the people who take this question seriously and provide a compelling answer will have a much better response rate.
Does that address your request? Were you thinking of something else?
Thanks, Eric (eric@BuildV1.com)

Hi Eric - apologies for replying to your comment so late, it has been a crazy week.
At a high level I want to know if the person posting is credible. Should I spend time chasing this down?
I would like to know more about the people that are posting than just what is in the "Experience" field. Maybe if people used it more extensively then it could fill that need.
I find that what Linked In has done with their profile system is terrific because people who have filled it out give a really good sense of their capabilities on it. Maybe just a link to a Linked In profile or some type of import of that profile would be useful?
Hope that's helpful,
Chris

Chris,
Thanks for the feedback.
I think linkedin profile integration is interesting. I'll have to
think about how that would work. I agree that determining whether a
post is worth responding to is a big issue. I think people could solve
that problem themselves by crafting a high quality post, but anything
I can do to help people create quality posts would be a good thing.
Best,
Eric
